A Guide for Our Wedding Guests from out of town

Getting to Cluj-Napoca

By Air

The most convenient way to reach Cluj-Napoca is by flying into Cluj-Napoca International Airport (CLJ). Direct flights may be available from major European cities, or you may need to connect through hubs like Vienna, Munich, or Bucharest.

  • Airlines flying to Cluj include Lufthansa, Wizz Air, and TAROM.

  • The airport is just 8 km from the city center, and taxis or ride-sharing services (Bolt, Uber) are readily available.

  • If you prefer public transportation, there is a bus (line 5 or 8) connecting the airport to the city center.

By Car from Slovenia

If you’re driving from Slovenia, the journey takes approximately 8-10 hours, depending on your route. The recommended drive is through Hungary (Budapest, Oradea) into Romania.

  • Be sure to purchase a Hungarian vignette online before entering the country.

  • In Romania, all vehicles must have a rovinieta (road vignette) to use national roads outside city limits. This can be purchased online at roviniete.ro or at gas stations and border crossings.

  • Certain bridges, like those over the Danube, may have additional toll fees.

  • Gas stations along the route accept card payments and are well-equipped with food and rest areas.
